Le Haut commissariat pour les réfugiés (HCR) et le gouvernement togolais ont annoncé la fermeture définitive du camp des réfugiés d’Avépozo. Cette fermeture devait se faire d’ici le 30 juin prochain. Les réfugiés de ce camp sont passés de 12 000 en 2011 à moins de 1 500 aujourd’hui.
D'ici le 30 juin 2022, le camp abritant les refugiés d'Avépozo en prériphérie de Lomé sera définitivement fermé. Un lot de vivres et divers matériels a été offerts aux réfugiés de ce camp par l’Agence des Nations unies pour les réfugiés (UNHCR) et les agences du Système des Nations unies au Togo, en collaboration avec le ministère chargé de l’action sociale.
Une clause de cessation du statut des réfugiés ivoiriens sera prononcée le 30 juin 2022 pour marquer la fermeture de ce camp.
