Explorer la biodiversité dans toutes ses formes à l’heure du coronavirus. C’est le pari du One planet summit. Le sommet se tient lundi 11 janvier à Paris, en France et sera retransmis en direct en ligne. La rencontre verra la participation de plusieurs chefs d’Etats et de gouvernements.
La biodiversité, le sujet principal retenu pour cette édition rappelle l’importance de la nature face à la pandémie du coronavirus et la préservation du vivant. 4 différentes thématiques seront abordées au cours de cette rencontre. Il s’agit notamment de la protection des écosystèmes terrestres et marins, la promotion de l’agro-écologie, la mobilisation des financements pour la biodiversité et le lien entre déforestation, espèces et santé humaine.
Pour les organisateurs, ce sommet permettra de « relever le niveau d’ambition de la communauté internationale sur la protection de la nature, tout en répondant aux nouvelles questions posées par la crise ». L’objectif ajoutent-ils est d’arriver à une dynamique de mobilisation politique dans la séquence internationale qui conduira à la COP15, « en montrant qu’il est possible d’agir pour la préservation de la planète, nous contribuerons à créer les conditions d’un accord ambitieux à Kunming ».
