Meurtre du laveur de véhicules à Avédji : polémique, émotions et explications du gouvernement

Abondamment relayée par les médias en lignes et les réseaux sociaux, la mort du jeune tué à Avédji, un laveur de véhicules abattu par un policier jeudi 21 mai, en périphérie de Lomé, suscite une vague de réactions. Emotions vives et polémique interminable.

Vite, ce drame n’a pas laissé le gouvernement sans réaction. Conscient de la gravité de cet incident, le ministre de la Sécurité et de la Protection civile, Yark Damehame promet que toute la lumière sera faite sur cette affaire et le crime ne restera pas impuni. Le laveur de véhicules était à bord d’une voiture avec son enfant lorsqu’il fut interpellé par deux éléments de l’armée qui étaient à moto, selon des témoins. S’en sont suivies des altercations entre les forces de l’ordre et l’interpellé du nom de Kpessou Agbende.

« A la suite de cette violente dispute, un fonctionnaire de police en service dans les environs, a dû faire usage de son arme atteignant ainsi mortellement cet automobiliste », à en croire les explications du ministre Yark. Les circonstances de ce drame sont encore non explicables, estime-t-il, cependant. Tout en promettant l’ouverture d’une enquête dont le double objectif est de clarifier les faits et situer les responsabilités.

Indignés et inconsolables, des riverains du quartier Avédji se sont mobilisés spontanément autour de la dépouille baignant dans le sang. Instantanément, la vidéo et les photos de l’horrible scène se sont répandues comme une traînée de poudre via les réseaux sociaux.

  La victime est père de deux enfants.
