En dehors de l’électricité, les centres de santé seront également équipés en kits de lave-mains automatiques et d’un réfrigérateur, entre autres. La subvention a été décrochée par l’énergéticien togolais à la suite d’un appel à projets lancé par Power Africa via l’USAID pour l’octroi de 2,6 millions $ (plus d’1,4 milliard FCFA) à des entreprises spécialisées dans le solaire afin de fournir une énergie Off Grid à près de 300 centres de santé en Afrique subsaharienne. Grâce à cette initiative, les centres de santé disposeront de l’énergie sans interruption afin de dispenser des soins médicaux continus.
