Le nouvel ambassadeur de la République togolaise auprès de la République du Ghana, le Colonel Awoki Panassa vient de présenter ses lettres de créances à Nana Dankwa Akoufo-Addo, le président ghanéen. La cérémonie s’est déroulée au Jubilée House, le palais présidentiel en présence de madame le ministre des Affaires étrangères et de l’Intégration régionale du Ghana ainsi que les membres du cabinet du chef de l’Etat.
Dans les échanges, le Colonel Awoki Panassa a présenté les salutations du chef de l’Etat togolais à son homologue ghanéen et lui a fait part de sa détermination à œuvrer de concert avec lui au renforcement des excellentes relations d’amitié et de coopération entre les deux (02) pays.
Il a également saisi l’occasion pour remercier le président ghanéen pour le rôle qu’il a joué dans le processus de résolution de la crise politique au Togo qui a connu un dénouement heureux. Les élections présidentielles du 22 février prochain au Togo et en décembre prochain au Ghana dont la tenue ont été aussi abordées.
Quant au président Nana Akoufo-Addo, il a tout d’abord félicité le nouvel ambassadeur pour sa nomination et lui a souhaité la bienvenue dans son pays. Il lui a ensuite fait comprendre que cette nomination est la marque de confiance placée en lui par le président Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé et qu’il ne doute pas qu’il accomplira une bonne mission dans l’intérêt des deux (02) pays.
Il lui a ensuite demandé de transmettre au président Faure ses sincères remerciements pour le soutien inestimable qu’il a apporté à la candidature du Ghana pour abriter le siège de la Zone de libre échange du continent africain (ZLECAF). Il lui a en outre demandé de lui transmettre ses amitiés et de le rassurer de sa disponibilité à poursuivre avec lui les efforts de la lutte contre le terrorisme qui menace l’avenir de leurs pays et du continent africain.
Rappel, le Colonel Awoki Panassa a été nommé le 06 novembre 2019 par le président Faure Gnassingbé.
