Coronavirus : la CAF envisage prendre des mesures

Le nouveau coronavirus ralentit les activités dans bon nombre de domaines dont le football. Des différentes instances de football dans le monde prennent des mesures. La Confédération africaine de football (CAF) est enfin sortie de son mutisme. Elle a sorti un communiqué vendredi 06 mars 2020. Les instances de la CAF « ne sont pas extrêmement inquiètes mais restent vigilantes ».

Les pays africains sont de plus en plus touchés par le coronavirus. A ce jour, la maladie est détectée dans neuf pays du continent. Il s’agit de l’Afrique du Sud, l’Algérie, l’Egypte, la Tunisie, le Maroc, le Sénégal, le Nigeria, le Cameroun et le Togo. Cette situation oblige la Confédération africaine de football à sortir de son silence. L’instance a sorti un communiqué vendredi dernier suite à la confirmation d’un cas au Cameroun. Puisque le pays va accueillir du 04 au 25 avril le Championnat d’Afrique des nations (Chan 2020). Dans le communiqué, les responsables de la CAF se disent « rester vigilants, mais pas extrêmement inquiets ».

« Les instances de la CAF ne sont pas extrêmement inquiètes mais restent vigilantes en ce qui concerne les matches et tournois futurs tels les matches de la Ligue des Champions, la Coupe de la Confédération et le tournoi final du Chan. Une cellule a été mise en place, sous l’autorité du président de la CAF comprenant les experts de divers domaines concernés, médical en particulier qui sont responsables par essence de la santé des acteurs du jeu et des membres de la famille du football africain », indique le communiqué.

Le communiqué mentionne par ailleurs que « si la situation l’impose, en accord avec les pays concernés, d’éventuels huis-clos, reports ou même annulations pourraient être envisagés ». Pour le moment, sur les seize (16) pays participants, seuls le Sénégal, le Togo et le Cameroun sont concernés par le coronavirus.

Certains pays se sont levés tôt pour prendre des mesures. Par exemple au Maroc, toutes les rencontres de football se disputeront sans spectateurs, ce jusqu’à nouvel ordre.
