30 tonnes de riz de Kovié dans les greniers de l’Ansat

L’Agence nationale pour la sécurité alimentaire au Togo (Ansat) a acheté 30 tonnes de riz d’une valeur de onze millions quatre cent mille (11.400.000) francs  CFA auprès de la coopérative Patience de Kovié, le 31 mars 2020.

Les premières semaines de la crise sanitaire engendrée par le covid-19 ont permis à l’Ansat de constater que « les Togolais aiment consommer les produits locaux notamment le riz qui se produit à Kovié et Agomé Glozou et qui est très apprécié des populations. Il se vend à 13.000 francs CFA, le sac de riz long grain ». Ce constat a amené l’Agence nationale pour la sécurité alimentaire à acheter, dans le cadre de son opération d’achat, auprès de la coopérative Patience de Kovié, 30 tonnes de riz d’une valeur de 11.400.000 francs CFA.

« Il faudrait qu’en milieu paysan, on puisse saisir cette opportunité pour monter en gamme en terme de production et de mise en marché de façon à dépendre moins de l’extérieur », soutient le col. Ouro-Koura Agadazi, directeur général de l’Ansat.

Selon lui, l’Ansat dispose aussi du « riz japonais importé que nous vendons à 10.000 francs CFA pour reconstituer les fonds de contrepartie qui contribue à soutenir le gouvernement togolais à la mise en œuvre des projets sociaux ».

L’Ansat compte étendre son opération d’achat aux autres localités de l’intérieur du pays. Mais en attendant, les populations de Kovié peuvent jubiler. « C’est une joie indescriptible qui nous anime en ce jour. C’est vrai qu’aujourd’hui nous sommes juste quelques-uns sur le site à cause de la maladie de coronavirus mais nous voulons remercier l’Ansat qui s’est déplacée pour nous acheter 30 tonnes de riz », se réjouit Gbadago koffi Mawuli, responsable de la coopérative Patience.

Sensible aux difficultés que traversent ces paysans en cette période de crise, l’Ansat a profité de l’occasion pour leur rappeler les mesures prises par le gouvernement togolais pour faire face à la pandémie du coronavirus. En plus de l’achat du riz, « le DG de l’Ansat nous a donné les cache-nez et beaucoup d’informations sur la maladie », déclare koffi Mawuli.
